Why you'll love it

Melrose gives you all the beauty and presence of a marble coffee table without the visual heaviness of a solid base. The low round top and open architectural supports create a lighter, more relaxed feel, while the extraordinary natural veining of Calacatta Viola ensures every table is unique.

Its circular shape is particularly easy to live with, softening a seating arrangement and creating a natural centre point around which sofas and occasional chairs can be grouped.

About this piece

Sculptural yet beautifully understated, our Melrose Calacatta Viola Marble Coffee Table pairs the richness of natural stone with a light, architectural design.

The generous round tabletop is crafted from striking Calacatta Viola marble, characterised by its creamy base and distinctive burgundy and violet veining. Beneath, two slender marble supports are deliberately positioned with space between them, allowing light to pass through and creating an open feel that beautifully contrasts with the solidity of the stone.

Its low profile and softly rounded shape make Melrose particularly suited to relaxed, contemporary seating, creating a natural focal point without dominating the room. Finished with a smooth honed surface, every table has its own completely individual pattern and character.

Modern in silhouette yet timeless in material, Melrose is a statement coffee table designed to be lived with for years.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Marble is a natural, porous stone and should be treated with care. Wipe clean using a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately.

Always use coasters and avoid placing hot items directly onto the marble. Wipe spills promptly, particularly wine, coffee, citrus, oils and other acidic or strongly coloured liquids. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals and acidic products such as vinegar, which can etch or mark the surface.

Do not drag objects across the tabletop and take care when moving the table due to the weight of the natural stone.

Variations in colour, veining and markings are inherent characteristics of genuine Calacatta Viola marble and are part of the individual beauty of each table.

THE FINER DETAILS

A Few Things Worth Knowing

Thoughtful answers to help you choose with confidence.

What is the Melrose Coffee Table made from?

Melrose is crafted from natural Calacatta Viola marble with a honed finish. This distinctive stone is known for its creamy colouring and dramatic burgundy, plum and violet-toned veining.

Will every Melrose Marble Coffee Table look the same?

No. Calacatta Viola is a natural marble and every slab has its own individual pattern. The balance of creamy stone and darker veining will therefore vary from table to table, making every Melrose unique.

What does a honed marble finish mean?

A honed finish gives the marble a smooth, softer appearance rather than a highly reflective polished surface. It gives the stone a more understated, tactile quality while allowing its natural colour and veining to remain the focus.

Why does the Melrose Coffee Table have an open base?

The two marble supports deliberately don't meet, allowing light and space to pass through beneath the tabletop. This provides the strength and presence of natural marble while giving the table a lighter, more architectural appearance.

Why choose a round marble coffee table?

A round coffee table can help soften the straight lines of sofas and other furniture and works particularly well when several seats are arranged around a central table. The absence of corners can also make circulation around the seating area feel more natural.

What style of sofa works with the Melrose Coffee Table?

Its low profile works particularly well with contemporary, generously proportioned sofas and low seating. The round tabletop is also a beautiful complement to curved sofas and armchairs, although its simple design makes it versatile enough for more traditional interiors.

Is Melrose made from real marble?

Yes. Melrose is crafted using genuine natural Calacatta Viola marble rather than a printed or marble-effect material. Natural variation should therefore be expected.

How should I style a Calacatta Viola coffee table?

The marble itself provides plenty of pattern, so we recommend keeping accessories relatively restrained. A small stack of books, candle or sculptural object adds interest while leaving enough of the tabletop visible to appreciate the stone.

Is a marble coffee table suitable for everyday use?

Yes, although natural marble needs appropriate care. Use coasters, wipe spills promptly and avoid acidic or abrasive products to help protect the surface.

How do I clean a Calacatta Viola marble coffee table?

Use a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry the surface afterwards. Avoid abrasive sponges, harsh chemicals and acidic cleaners such as vinegar or citrus-based products.

Large furniture is delivered separately from smaller parcel items using a suitable furniture delivery service. Delivery details and timing will be confirmed after your order is placed, and you’ll receive updates before your item arrives.
