Choose your tree height for a simple or fuller look. These are estimates, not a shopping requirement.

Mix favourite sets with decorations you already own. A five-set offer is a starting layer, not a whole-tree count; check how many baubles are in each set.

Rough guide for an average-width tree. Set equivalents round up each end of the bauble range to whole sets of three and assume every decoration comes from a three-piece set. Tree width, bauble size, existing decorations and how many sides you dress will change what you need.

How the offer works

Add five eligible decoration sets to your basket and the lowest-priced qualifying set is free. The offer repeats for each complete group of five eligible sets in the same order: ten sets get two free. Wood, garlands, trees, lights and baskets do not count.

The decorating guide

A tree with a little depth

Start with the tree you have and build in layers. The size guide above estimates individual baubles and shows an approximate equivalent in sets of three. Use favourite pieces you already own, and leave space for the ones that matter most.

01 · Shape

Fluff and step back

Open out the branches and look for gaps from the places you normally see the tree. Decide whether you are dressing all sides or mainly the front.

02 · Light

Add lights first

Test them before they go on the tree. Work around the trunk and out towards the tips so the glow comes from within, then tuck visible cable back among the branches.

03 · Foundation

Place your quieter baubles

Spread your everyday and simpler pieces evenly, including some deeper in the branches. Keep heavier decorations on sturdy lower branches.

04 · Texture

Mix glass, paper and ceramic

Repeat a few colours or finishes from top to bottom rather than clustering one style together. Vary height and depth for a collected feel.

05 · Focus

Give favourites room

Put the pieces you love most at eye level and in clear spaces. Leave a little breathing room around statement decorations instead of filling every gap.

06 · Finish

Step back once more

Check the tree from the doorway, balance any bare patches, then add a topper or final personal touches. Stop when it feels like yours.

A simple starting point: for a 6ft tree, allow roughly 18–24 individual baubles for a simple look (approx. 6–8 sets of three) or 35–45 for a fuller look (approx. 12–15 sets of three). Tree width, bauble size and decorations you already own all change what looks right. Five sets of three would be 15 baubles, not a full-tree prescription.
